Our 3rd Anniversary-How has it been 3 years?! I can't imagine a life without Jordan, without being married to my best friend, and spending every day with him. We spent the night eating Chinese take-out and watching our wedding video...while I cried like a baby. It was perfect.
"Your cake isn't keeping well..."-While we were home this weekend, my mom stopped me on the way out of the house and wanted me to take the first tier of our wedding cake home. We never had a chance to get it from my parents on our first or second anniversary. My mom had said that the cake wasn't "keeping well," which made no sense at the time. When we got back to the apartment, we discovered that my family, at some point had eaten almost all of the cake, and had left us 1/4. Only my family. And just so everyone knows, the cake was delicious and keeping just fine.
Try Knox County- I participated in the 10th annual "Try Knox County" in Vincennes over the weekend. The race was a 200m pool swim, 10 mile bike, and 5 k run. It was an interesting experience. It was really odd to come back and want to be competitive in my hometown. Spoiler alert: A LOT of people have gotten competitive about triathlon in Vincennes in the last 10 years. It was great to see that the community is keeping this event going. The event itself for me was mediocre. The swim and bike went well(and I clipped in and out successfully, yay) the run...not so much. The run course was extremely hot, and I gave up mentally early on. My run was so so slow. I felt a sense of embarrassment and let down to myself. I also got super "comparison-y" and started questioning a lot of my training after seeing women that looked un athletic finish a lot faster than I did. It's a mental battle, working on it...
Morning Yoga-Brittany mentioned at small group on Monday that there is now free yoga at the canal on Wednesday mornings...at 6am. Jordan decided to go too and Jill met us there. It ended up sprinkling/raining during the class, we watched the sun rise, and at one point a crane flew over the canal and it was so perfect that it was funny. Thankful for a community of friends, a healthy body, and city that offers free hipster activities.
