Honduras 2017

I truly couldn't imagine a more easy-going mission trip. Corey and Brit-I will travel with you guys ANYTIME. This trip was unlike any mission trip I had ever taken, mostly because of the small group size. Jordan and I were used to wrangling high-school students and making sure everyone was healthy. Being able to relax and enjoy the trip was amazing. But don't get me wrong...it was a lot of work.

Promise Home has grown SO much since we were there last in 2014. Before, only the children's home had been built, there is now a cafeteria, a school, offices, and a director's home. Getting out of the truck and hearing children's voices coming from the house brought me immediately to tears-praise God.

Our project for the week was to finish the director's home (behind us). We painted all of the interior, and added some finishing touches. My back and shoulders still haven't recovered. So thankful for friends like these to serve with.

Our favorite part of the day: playing with the kiddos before we became covered in paint from head to toe.

We couldn't get enough.

Jordan and Corey definitely had to more dangerous job (and hotter). The men spent the week climbing scaffolding (and ladders on top of scaffolding, yikes!) to paint the gate that surrounds the compound.

Bubbles were a new concept. Once the boys got past wanting to drink them,we had way more fun.

This was probably the only time we smiled on this hike... So. Hot. So. Muggy. So. Steep.

Hiking up to the property line...we didn't even make it half of a mile.

I couldn't ask for a better friend than Brittany. This lady is selfless, loving, uplifting, and BILINGUAL! Her talent was awesome to watch. Every person she came into contact with lit up when she started speaking Spanish. Amazing!

Baleadas-yuuuuuuummmy. Butter, refried beans, and cheese in a flour tortilla: yes, please.

The cook was nice enough to show us how to make tortillas, we were...beginner level haha

La Cascada. Love this hotel and the people that run it. The food is always amazing, and I love that it's different than a traditional hotel.

Tejas-the Honduran version of Fogo de Chao-meat...lots of meat.

The beach at Tela. Absolutely gorgeous...even if I did have to wear my clothes in the ocean.

Thanks to Franklin, we got to try lychee for the first time.

"Wait..I ate the pit..."

Phase 10-sturdy caboose for life.

Could breakfast get any better? Yum.

Work work work work work...

Brit talking to one of the little's...so precious.

Baby J...loved the cuddles.

We made some progress...

About 5am...so tired. So thankful to have a husband that serves God. This was his only week off of school and he chose to spend it in Honduras. He is the BEST.
